The 50% / 50% visible cube beamsplitter consists of two cemented right angles prisms. One prism is coated on the hypotenuse to provide a coating taht will reflect and transmit the incident light. The coating shows minimum sensitivity to variations in angles of incident and polarizations as compared to plate beamsplitters.
